Hindus today worship and pray to their gods in madirs, or temples. The temples are

dedicated to different gods and are focused on religious life. Usually, temples are only

visited to on special festivals and functions. So when they are not in temples they are

worshiping in shrines. In hindu homes you find a decorated shrine that serves as an

alter of worship.

Hinduism was originally found in India. Hinduism is also widely practiced there. It is

also spread through south-east Asia. 14% of the people in the world practice Hinduism.

The main God a hindu believes in is Brahman. He is the supreme spirit, that is the

transcendent creator of every thing. Brahman is believed to create the whole universe

and all that is in it. Hindus do not see Brahman as any figure. He is only seen in what

they feel he looks like.

In Hinduism there is four Vedas, the Rig, Sama, Yajur, and Atharua Veda.

The Vedas are the primary texts of Hinduism. The Vedas contain hymns

incantations, and rituals from ancient India.

For Hindus to reach their curtain goals in life, or darma, they practice

yoga to help them. Yoga helps hindus relax and consintrate. They

pray to shrines and believe it is more about what you do to believe.

Holi:

Hindus have many festivals they like to celebrate. Like Holi, it is celebrated in

the spring. In this holiday they celebrate the triumph good over bad. People hug

and wish a happy Holi!

Vasant Panchami:

This holiday is another good example for a hindu holidays. It's dedicated

Parahma's wife and is is also celebrated in the begging of spring.
